Chapter One

"Amma! Amma! Jaldi kariye! Deir hojaygi, aur phir teacher hum ke upar cheekengi!" 
[Amma! Amma! Hurry up! I'll be late, and then my teacher will shout at me!] Khushi Kumari Gupta screamed out to her mum. She was an early riser and always got ready before time which is exactly why her mum was always later at doing things.

"Coming coming!" 

Khushi's mum served Khushi her favourite breakfast, plain dosa with cheese. 
Khushi loved any sort of food, she was watching her favourite tv show while eating the dosa, her favourite tv show was about a love story between a rich guy and a poor girl who fall in love despite their opposite ego's. 

"Oh how I wish I found a guy like him..." Khushi was talking to her bua ji about the main male lead from the show.
"Yeh ladke bus sapne meh dekteh Khushi betiya, asli duniya meh kohi bi aisa nahi hai, yeh duniya galees hai."
[You only see these kind of guys in your dreams Khushi darling, not in the real world, the real world is a horrible place.]

Khushi let out a sigh at her bua ji and tried to defend her beliefs but she knew inside, her bua ji was telling the truth.

"Challo! Nashta khatm, hamari bus bi agayi, ab hum jahte amma aur buaji, baba ku zaroor airport se jakhey lena!" 
[Ok! Done my breakfast, my bus is even here, now I'll go mum and aunty, and you guys better go pick up dad from the airport!] And she ran off into her bus.

"Arnav!"
"Chotte! Ut! Mama tumku itni deir se uthane ki kosheesh karahi the!" 
[Get up! Mum has been trying to wake you up for so long!]
"You're going to be late for high school you moron! Wake up!"

"Get out Di! Agh, I wanna sleep! I'll skip school."
"Don't make me pour water over you, you know I will."
"Aaaaaaagh, OK!"

Arnav Singh Raizada who was in year 10 was a very rich guy, girls in his high school fell for him when they instantly saw him, but he only had eyes for one girl, his best friend Khushi.

Khushi and him were best friends since birth and always were there for each other, they did nearly every activity with each other, they'd get so bored with out each other.
He always hated school, especially the waking up bit, but he'd only wake up to go to see Khushi which is why he agreed to wake up to his Di, other wise Arnav was so stubborn, a no from him mean't a dead straight no.

"Chotte! Jaldi aao! Bus ajayegi pandra minute mei! Mujhe job ku jana hai! Mei tujko bus tak chodungi rastey par!"
[Chotte! Come quick! Your bus will come in 15 minutes, I  gotta go to my job! I'll drop you off to the bus stop on my way!]
"Ok Di! Coming!"

Arnav went down to have his breakfast, he always had corn flakes, but today was going to be different, he had a masala dosa, and enjoyed every minute of it.

"Chotte!" 
"Coming Di!"

Arnav left to his bus stop with his Di in her Lamborghini, which showed everyone in his bus how rich he was, Khushi knew that, but always loved simplicity Arnav showed towards her despite him being rich.

"Hello Ji, kamina, phirse bus ku miss karne walla tha, pagal kahin ka."   
[Hello, asshole, you were going to miss the bus again! stupid guy.] Khushi slowly tapped his head in a joking gesture, Arnav loved that about her, her teasing him.
"Sorry Maharani, hum phirse aisa kabibi nahi karenge!" Khushi laughed and moved her self to the window seat so he could sit with her.

"Agh I'm not looking forward to the first day of school, I mean I know I've gone to this school with you for like all these fifteen years, but you know, chir atti hai pehla din peh, hamesha, I get so nervous, aghh!" 
[I get pissed off on the first day, always!]

"Oh Khushi! Its ok, as long as I'm with you, koi bi tujko kuch bi nahi kai sakta."
[No one can tell you any thing!]

"Aww Arnav! you're really the best friend I've ever had!" She gave him a tight squeeze hug causing Arnav to melt in her embrace.

Everyone in the bus were great friends with Arnav and Khushi, they were popular amongst everyone in the school, people would always tease them to go out with each other, but Khushi and Arnav would always brush it off their shoulder. Despite Arnav wanting to date Khushi, he never ever wanted to force her into anything so he would keep quiet and just go with the flow.

"So don't you ever worry about anything! Your first day will be great, don't worry, and whats there to get scared? We're in the same class, we're in the same stream, so don't worry!"

Arnav and Khushi's bus reached their school just 5 minutes before the bell rang, Khushi had a nervous gag at the back of her throat, but she had Arnav to reassure her everything will be fine.

They entered the school hall way after two months of summer together, they saw their bestfriends running towards them to give them two a hug, Arnav and Khushi and their friends were all best friends, and Arnav side of friends knew his feelings towards Khushi, but they didn't make it obvious they knew.

"Arnav!" Arnav's ex girl friend came up and gave him a hug, Khushi and everyone else of the group looked at her like 'What the f-ck is wrong with her?'

Her name was Pia, and no one from the group liked her one bit, they all wondered why she was coming to Arnav again.

Arnav hated her to the core and immediately pushed her off of him.
"Get the f-ck away from me you bitch."
"Arnav! I missed you baby, kitna yaad aye tum mujhko holidays peh, isliye toh meh hug karne ayi!"
[I missed you so much over the holidays, thats why I came to hug you!]
"Yeah well I didn't miss you, so I'm not gonna hug you back, now get away from me."
"Oh god, fine, but I just want you to know I missed you."

She walked away from him past Priya, past Mohit, past Suzie, past Arjun and finally past Khushi, giving her a look which always made Khushi feel uncomfortable, every one knew the reason of why Pia hated Khushi except Khushi herself, she knew Arnav liked Khushi, so she always tried her best to take Arnav away from her, but Arnav didn't let her.

Classes had started and everyone was allowed to choose who they wanted to sit next to, Arnav like usual chose to sit next to Khushi. Khushi was relieved to know Arnav was sitting with her for her first lesson.

"Uffffoo, Miss Aliya toh bohoth achi dikri hai, liken kaisa?"
[Miss Aliya looks very good, but how?] Khushi and Arnav both laughed in whispers because of how their teachers style had changed over the summer holidays.

"Ok students! We have a new student joining our Engineering class, her name is Pia, so lets give her a warm welcome!"

Arnav heard the name and hoped that what Ms Aliya was saying was not true, but as he saw the girl, he put his head into his hands, he really didn't want his ex to be in this class, cause she'd annoy the hell out of him.

"Maam, I don't have anywhere to sit..." When she had clearly seen 3 available seats.

"Its ok, go sit on that seat next to Mohit."
"Maam which Mohit?" There were two Mohits in that class, the other one was a part of Arnav Khushi's group too.

"Aghh." Arnav gave out a soft groan. He was so annoyed that his ex was sitting on a table next to him with just an aisle seperating them.

He looked at her in disgust just to see her winking back.

"Ok, now I'm not looking forward to the whole school year." He whispered in Khushi's ear, and they both giggled.

Khushi could see Pia's eyes on her, she was jealous that she was sitting next to Arnav, so Khushi asked Arnav to help her out, he eventually did by telling Pia to stop staring at the two and mind her own business.

"God damnit, this  might be a tough year..I have to ask Khushi out, plus deal with this bitch...Oh god." Arnav thought to himself.
